Manchester United allowed Paul Pogba to escape Old Trafford once, but Ed Woodward won’t allow that mistake to be made a second time. The top Man United executive appears determined to bring Pogba into the fold even amidst the uncertainty surrounding the future of manager Louis van Gaal and his potential replacement Jose Mourinho. And he’s prepared to spend a king’s ransom to bring the Juventus megastar back.
According to the Daily Star, Woodward has £300 million in the transfer purse waiting to be used on whoever he wants and Pogba remains the club’s top target after letting him join the Serie A giants several years ago. Pogba is eager for Champions League football though. Per the source he has an army of Champions League and potential Champions League teams serving as his suitors: Barcelona, Manchester City and Real Madrid to name a few.
Pogba has helped lead Juventus to four straight Serie A titles since joining in 2012 and helped bring the team to the Champions League Final in 2015 – ultimately losing to Barcelona.
Any move for the French megastar would put the world transfer record in jeopardy considering the massive price tag Juventus have placed on him.
