Lassana Diarra could be making his (triumphant?) return to the Premier League if Manchester United have their way.
According to Foot Mercato [per Get French Football News], Man United are making round-the-clock efforts to bring the 31-year-old midfielder to Old Trafford. However, they have stopped short of making a formal offer for Diarra just yet as he is believed to be eager to play Champions League football. Man United need a win and a Manchester City loss on Championship Sunday to find out if they clinch a spot in the Champions League.
Per the source, PSG have also expressed interest in the French midfielder.
Diarra played for Chelsea from 2005 to 2007, making just 13 league appearances and left on a free transfer at the end of the season to join Arsenal. He made just seven league appearances for the Arsenal in his lone season with the club. Since the 2007-08 season, Diarra has played for Portsmouth, Real Madrid, Anzhi Makhachkala, Locomotiv Moscow and most recently Marseille with vary degrees of success.
He has been capped 33 times for France and was most recently featured in the March friendly against Russia.
