PSG boss criticizes Golden Boy nominee for pursuing Arsenal transfer

Arsenal are believed to be interested in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot and have reportedly begun talks with the 20-year-old Golden Boy nominee to sign him [per Goal]. This in turn has drawn the ire of PSG manager Laurent Blanc, who is upset by his rising star’s behavior.

According to the Metro, Blanc expressed annoyance at the news that Rabiot has been in talks with Arsenal about a transfer or a loan move and explained that because of Rabiot’s contract with PSG it is disrespectful to the club to do so.

‘It annoys me,’ Blanc said.

‘Adrien has to understand that when you have the possibility of going at the end of your contract and to leave for free, you can do it.

‘Otherwise, when you sign a contract of five years with PSG, you have to respect your first club.’

Rabiot has made eight starts for PSG in Ligue 1 with three extra appearances as a sub. Last year he made 10 starts and 10 extra appearances for the club en route to four goals and an assist during the club’s Ligue 1 title season.

Last month Rabiot recorded his first-ever Champions League goal in a 5-0 win over Malmo FF.

The Independent reported that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have both been interested in bringing in Rabiot to potentially give him more playing time.
