Manchester United players expect Ten Hag to be sacked this summer

Manchester United’s tumultuous season took another nosedive as Erik ten Hag’s men suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park earlier this week.

The loss at Selhurst Park encapsulated the woes haunting the once-mighty club, leaving players and fans alike grappling with despair.

According to an exclusive report by The Mirror, a sense of impending doom looms large within the Manchester United camp. A group of players reportedly now doubt Ten Hag’s tenure at the club beyond this season, fearing his imminent departure. Moreover, there’s a palpable fear that the team may not secure another victory in what has been a dismal campaign.

Manchester United’s current standing at eighth place in the Premier League threatens to etch their lowest finish since the inception of the Premier League in 1992. The haunting memory of the 2013/2014 season under David Moyes, when they languished at seventh, looms ominously.

The defeat against Crystal Palace marked their 13th league loss, an all-time high for the club in a single season. Furthermore, they conceded their 55th goal, edging dangerously close to breaching the club’s record for most goals conceded.

Tuchel and Southgate linked with Manchester United manager role

While Manchester United remain tight-lipped about Ten Hag’s future, speculation abounds regarding potential successors. Names like Thomas Tuchel and Gareth Southgate hover over the club’s potential managerial vacancy, hinting at a possible shake-up in leadership.

Even experienced managers such as Tuchel and Southgate don’t exactly fill supporters with much confidence. The only Premier League job Southgate had was with Middlesbrough where he gradually weakened the team to the point where they suffered relegation.

Meanwhile, Tuchel did not have a good time of things in the Premier League with Chelsea even despite winning the UEFA Champions League in the 2020/21 campaign.
