Former Chelsea defender William Gallas has suggested to his former club to take revenge against Manchester United for signing Mason Mount.
Man United captain Bruno Fernandes has admitted that if he were to leave the Old Trafford outfit, he would think about it after the Euros.
Since Bruno’s comments about his future, Man United fans have been concerned about the future of their captain.
Reports have suggested that most of the Man United players are up for sale as the club prepare for a major overhaul of the squad in the summer.
This has fueled speculation about the future of some of the biggest Man United players including Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.
Since joining the club in a £47million move in January 2020, Fernandes has been a mainstay of the Man United starting line up.
It would not be wrong to say that he has been the Red Devils’ most consistent player in that time, registering 79 goals and 64 assists in 230 appearances.
Gallas has suggested that Chelsea begin a daring pursuit of Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, to revive Mauricio Pochettino’s struggling attack.
He told Gambling Zone: “Both Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes could be good options for Chelsea.
“Both are quality players. Bruno could definitely be the kind of midfielder who has the quality to play in the number ten role where Chelsea lack strength.
“Chelsea are a team of young players and Bruno Fernandes has the leadership qualities to get through certain periods. He’d be a good signing if the rumours are true.”
With Man United failing to qualify for the Champions League next season, some of their players may think about leaving the club for better opportunities elsewhere.
Club captain Fernandes has admitted that it may be a possibility after the Euros this summer.
“I’m not thinking too much about the future, not least because, obviously, this season hasn’t been at the level I’d hoped for, either individually or collectively, so far,” the Portuguese international told DAZN, as reported by Football.London.
“So, if you want me to be very honest, if I have to think about not continuing in the Premier League, it won’t be until after the Euros.
Chelsea would find it difficult to afford Fernandes
It remains to be seen if Chelsea will think about making a move for one of the Man United players.
The Blues are currently not strong financially and may think about selling some of their players first.
In order to comply with Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, Pochettino’s team needs to first sell players and generate funds.
