Fabrizio Romano’s social media activity may not be good news for Liverpool fans

Liverpool are currently working on a new contract for Trent Alexander-Arnold but that has not stopped the chatter around Real Madrid’s interest in the full-back as more stories continue to emerge.

The England international is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season and is free to sign a pre-contract with foreign clubs from January 1.

Liverpool plan on keeping Alexander-Arnold long term and according to The Athletic’s James Pearce, dialogue with the representatives of the 26-year-old remains open and ongoing as everyone works towards striking a deal.

However, that has not stopped talks around Real Madrid’s interest in the England international, which has intensified over the last few days since Dani Carvajal suffered a season-ending knee injury.

Marca have reported Real Madrid will make their move for Alexander-Arnold in January, but only if he has not signed a contract renewal at Liverpool by that stage.

If the situation is still open, the La Liga champions will make the Reds star a contract offer, with a view to securing his services for the 2025/26 season. If a pre-contract agreement is reached, the Spanish giants could then try and sign the defender before the winter window closes, but that is a scenario Liverpool are unlikely to be open to.

Fabrizio Romano’s social media activity could hint at Trent Alexander-Arnold exit

Should Real Madrid make an official move for Alexander-Arnold, it would be hard for the full-back to say no as he is guaranteed to win trophies with the La Liga champions and his close friend Jude Bellingham is currently at the Spanish outfit.

The social media activity of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano could hint that the England international is leaning towards a move as the Italian journalist has reposted a post on X from back in March, which stated that Real Madrid are monitoring Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation at Liverpool.

It is unclear why Romano did this, but with all the current noise surrounding the Liverpool star, it is obvious that something is happening regarding the 26-year-old’s future.
