Cole Palmer has been so good for Chelsea that he would surely now cost someone like Real Madrid at least £150million, according to pundit Graeme Souness.
Palmer has been a revelation since joining Chelsea last season, having previously struggled to break into the Manchester City first-team after coming up as a promising youngster from their academy.
Phil Foden has been one of the big success stories in terms of homegrown Man City players making the step up into the senior side, but Palmer couldn’t quite replicate his fellow Englishman in winning over Pep Guardiola, leading to him leaving for a major rival.
Since joining Chelsea, however, Palmer has been incredible, and Souness could now see Real Madrid trying to pay as much as £150m to sign the 22-year-old.

Souness, writing in his latest column for the Daily Mail, said: “City called it wrong in allowing Cole Palmer to go to Chelsea last season.
“I’m sure there are other players they could have cashed in on. Chelsea paid £40million for Palmer but if Real Madrid come knocking next summer and he is still at the level he is showing, I would not be surprised if they got an offer of £150m for him.”
It’s surely true that Palmer is now worth more than triple what Chelsea paid for him, with this move likely to go down as one of the best bits of business by any Premier League club in recent times.
It’s also refreshing for Chelsea to be on the right end of this kind of poor decision-making by another club, as they’d previously let world class talents like Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne leave as youngsters, only to then see them go on and become elite performers for their rivals.
