Aston Villa and West Ham United are keen on signing the Valencia striker Hugo Duro.
According to a report from Fichajes, the two English clubs are keen on signing the 24-year-old centre forward and he is likely to cost around €25-30 million. Duro had an impressive season with Valencia last year and he scored 13 goals in the league. He could develop into a key player for the English clubs if they can get the deal done.
Aston Villa have been overly dependent on Ollie Watkins for goals and the England International needs more support in the attack. They need a quality alternative so that they can rotate their squad and keep the key players fresh.
Duro would be an excellent acquisition and the 24-year-old will be tempted to join them if the opportunity presents itself. Moving to the Premier League will be an exciting option for the striker and he will look to prove himself in England. Meanwhile, Aston Villa are competing in the UEFA Champions League and they will be an attractive destination for most players.
West Ham keen on Hugo Duro
Meanwhile, West Ham United need a quality striker as well. They signed Niclas Fullkrug at the start of the season, but the former Bundesliga star has not been able to hit the ground running. They could use more quality in the attack and Duro would be a superb addition. He will add goals and creativity to the side. He is also versatile enough to operate anywhere across the front three.
The reported asking price seems reasonable for a player of his quality. He could easily justify the investment in the coming seasons. It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa or West Ham decide to follow up on their interest with an official proposal to sign the striker.
