Attacker who played for rivals last season claims he is open to Liverpool move

Arnaut Danjuma, who played for Everton last season after joining the Toffees on loan from Villareal, claims is he open to a move to Liverpool.

The Dutch attacker did not have the best of time at Goodison Park. He represented Everton for 14 matches in the Premier League and only managed to score one goal.

The ex-Everton man has opened up on his desire to represent the Reds, however, there is no suggestion at the moment that Arne Slot’s team wants to sign him.

Danjuma plays for Girona in La Liga right now and he has claimed that it would be hard to turn down Liverpool if he gets an offer from them, despite his Everton past.

Speaking to ESPN Netherlands program De Voetbalkantine, Danjuma said, as translated by FC Update:

“As a player, you have to be ambitious and if a big club comes, you should always consider it.

“I don’t think there will be many people sitting at the table there who will say no to Liverpool.”

“Feyenoord had shown a bit more interest in me [in 2023],” Danjuma claimed.

“That was mainly when Slot was the coach there. I considered it at the time and spoke to Slot. I am a fan of his style of play and have a lot of confidence in him as a coach.”

Like Danjuma, it would be hard to turn down an offer from Liverpool for a lot of players in the world.

Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi might disagree though, as he rejected a move to Anfield this summer in favour of his boyhood club.

The Reds chased the Euro 2024 winner in the summer transfer window and despite earlier giving his thumbs up to the move, he changed his mind in the last minute.

Arnaut Danjuma will face Liverpool this season

Danjuma’s Girona side will come up against Liverpool in the Champions League this season.

Liverpool are currently preparing to face Bologna in the Champions League and after that, they travel to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

They are currently top of the Premier League standings and started their Champions League campaign with a convincing win against AC Milan.
