Chelsea splashed the cash on new signings in the summer transfer window.

The Chelsea squad went through a major overhaul this summer under the leadership of new manager Enzo Maresca.

The likes of Pedro Neto, Jadon Sancho, Joao Felix and others joined the club while players like Romelu Lukaku, Raheem Sterling, Conor Gallagher and others left for a new adventure elsewhere.

Maresca’s team has started the new season in fine form, showing signs of improvement from last season.

The Blues spent the most on bringing Neto to the club from Wolves and the Portuguese scored his first goal for the club in the Carabao Cup clash against Barrow this week.

Neto has claimed that there is more to come from him and he is yet to reach his normal level.

‘At the moment, I’m not at my level, but I’m getting there,’ he told the Evening Standard.

‘I know that I will arrive at my top form and I will enjoy it.

‘I continue to work. I continue to work on my confidence, on my football, on the adaptation, and I hope to be [at full fitness] as soon as as I can.’

Pedro Neto would be hoping for a starting role soon at Chelsea

Neto would be hoping to get more starts than what Maresca is offering to the player at the moment.

The pacey winger has spent time on the bench with the manager preferring Noni Madueke on the right side, a position where Neto is comfortable.

These are still early days and the long season will have its changes as we move on.

Perhaps the manager is trying to ease in Neto by not putting too much pressure on him and keeping him away from the spotlight.

The goal in the midweek would have given the winger the confidence he needed to kick start his Stamford Bridge career.

Chelsea and Neto will face Brighton in the Premier League this weekend and a win could take them into the top four of the league.
