Aston Villa manager Unai Emery would reportedly be ready to consider letting in-form striker Jhon Duran leave the club as long as the money from his sale were definitely reinvested into strengthening the squad.

Duran has been one of Villa’s most eye-catching performers so far this season, despite still being seen as behind Ollie Watkins as Emery’s first choice striker.

A number of big clubs have been linked with Duran in recent times, with Chelsea notably trying to sign him in the summer, while there was also some interest from AC Milan and West Ham. If Duran were to be available in January, Arsenal and Barcelona could probably also be added to the 20-year-old’s list of suitors.

According to Give Me Sport, it seems Emery is not that attached to keeping hold of Duran, but it seems he has made the important request that money from his sale is reinvested.

The Colombia international is likely to have an asking price of around £40m, though suitors have previously not been keen on paying more than £30m.

It will be interesting to see if that changes after Duran’s strong start to the season for Villa.
