Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made an intriguing statement (“I have all the information”) on Manchester City from his time at the club when he worked as part of Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff.

The Spanish tactician has since done a great job as Gunners boss, turning the north London giants from a team that had been struggling to even make the top four into the Sky Blues’ most serious Premier League title rivals.

On top of that, it seems there could be issues emerging off the pitch as City are investigated over 115 alleged financial breaches going back many years.

It’s not clear if that’s what Arteta was referring to here in footage shared by Sky Sports on X (formerly Twitter), but his comments have certainly raised one or two eyebrows…

Perhaps Arteta will further clarify his comments later, but until then there will surely be some fans getting a bit carried away about the 42-year-old possibly bringing down his former employers.

While it may be some time before we find out what the verdict against City will be, it has been widely reported that if the most serious allegations are found to be accurate, it could mean expulsion from the Premier League, while retrospective points deductions could also mean Arsenal and Liverpool are handed a few titles.

Arsenal drew 2-2 with City at the weekend, with goals from Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhaes looking to be sending the north London giants away with a famous victory until John Stones struck for the home side deep into stoppage time.
