Arsenal agree deal to sign South American ace from Premier League rivals

Arsenal are set to sign the Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto on loan for the remainder of the season.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Arsenal has now agreed on a deal in principle with the Premier League side and the 35-year-old Brazilian will move to North London imminently.

Arsenal do not have any option or obligation to buy the player permanently at the end of the season. Neto is expected to be a backup option to David Raya for the remainder of the season.

The Gunners sanctioned the departure of Aaron Ramsdale, who is joining Southampton on a permanent transfer. The English goalkeeper needed to play regularly at this stage of his career and he was desperate to leave the Gunners. Arsenal needed to bring in a quality backup option and Neto should prove to be a useful acquisition. He has proven himself with the Cherries consistently and he will be hoping to push Raya for the starting spot this season.

Neto would be a useful addition

The signing of the 35-year-old could prove to be an excellent business for the Gunners. They have brought in an experienced and proven backup for the Spanish goalkeeper without a substantial investment.

It will be interesting to see if they can improve the other areas of their squad before the window closes later today.

Arsenal should look to invest in a goalscoring winger, who is versatile enough to slot into multiple roles. They have a quality squad at their disposal and a couple of intelligent additions could take them to a whole new level. The Gunners will be looking to push for the title once again this season and a versatile forward could make a huge difference for them.
