After Raheem Sterling, another Chelsea star faces ruthless axe from Enzo Maresca

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has stamped his authority at Stamford Bridge with some of the decisions he has taken.

The new manager started his Premier League career with the Blues with a defeat against the Premier League champions Manchester City in their opening match.

Chelsea have made a number of new signings at the club with the latest being Portuguese winger Pedro Neto from Wolves.

The arrival of new players will make it difficult for some of the existing ones to play regularly, as Raheem Sterling and Ben Chillwell have found out recently.

Now, another Chelsea player is facing axe from the team as Maresca is set to continue his ruthless streak.

According to The Guardian, Chelsea could sign another defender if Axel Disasi leaves the club.

Disasi is facing an uncertain future at the club, just like Trevoh Chalobah. Both the centre-backs are way down in the pecking order and the Blues are looking to sell them before the transfer deadline.

Chelsea defender Axel Disasi is not in manager Enzo Maresca’s plans.

Disasi missed preseason for Chelsea because of an injury and despite starting 40 games in all competitions last season under former manager Mauricio Pochettino, Maresca is not counting on the French defender.

He only joined the club last year but the managerial change at Stamford Bridge could incredibly turnaround his future at the club.

Newcastle are keeping an eye on the defender but only as an alternative if they fail to complete the signing of Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

Axel Disasi is nowhere near the starting XI at Chelsea

Levi Cowill and Wesley Fofana are Maresca’s preferred choice in the centre-back position while Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile will act as the back up options.

This would mean Disasi would be fifth choice centre-back at the club, which has made him consider his future at the club.

Sterling, Chillwell, Disasi and Chalobah are all set to leave the club before the transfer deadline as Maresca continues to make changes.
