West Ham ‘ready to offer just over €20m’ in order to land Englishman

West Ham United remain keen on signing Tammy Abraham from the Italian club AS Roma.

The 26-year-old had an underwhelming campaign with the Italian club last season and he is considered an expendable asset this summer. He scored just once in 12 appearances in all competitions.

According to journalist Simone Valdarchi, West Ham are the most interested club and they would be willing to offer over €20 million for the England international striker.

He said on MilanNews24: “During the transfer market, many Premier League teams were linked to Abraham, but without anything so concrete. To date, West Ham seems to be the most interested club and ready to offer just over €20m.

“As for the player’s will, I believe that the possibility of playing for Milan fascinates him, even if the Premier League would be a homecoming for him.”

It is no secret that West Ham need attacking reinforcements and Abraham could prove to be a useful acquisition. He could form a partnership with Niclas Fullkrug in the attack. The two players would be a major upgrade on Michail Antonio and Danny Ings.

Both players were quite underwhelming last season and West Ham needed to bring in alternatives. They have a quality squad at their disposal and signing a couple of efficient strikers could transform them.

Tammy Abraham to West Ham?

West Ham need quality strikers

They will be hoping to push for European qualification this season and the Hammers will look to do well in the domestic competitions as well. They have brought in a quality manager like Julen Lopetegui, and it will be interesting to see if the Spaniard can guide them to a successful season.

Meanwhile, Abraham will look to get his career back on track and a return to his homeland would be ideal. West Ham could provide him with the platform he requires and he has the physical and technical attributes to do well in English football.

The striker might feel that he has unfinished business in the Premier League, and he will look to establish himself as a key player for the Hammers if the transfer goes through.
