Video: “Warning signs” – £280m-rated Chelsea midfield three ripped apart by brutal Gary Neville takedown

The amount of money that Chelsea have spent over the past few seasons on players that haven’t necessarily improved the side was brought into sharp focus on Monday night after Gary Neville issued a brutal takedown of their three midfielders during Monday Night Football.

Neville firstly noted the £280m that the Blues had spent on Romeo Lavia, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, compared to the £128m that Sunday’s opponents, Man City, had paid out for Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Mateo Kovacic, the latter two players both ex-Chelsea men of course.

The former Man United full-back then went to town on the West Londoners midfield, showing how they were easily second best in all aspects of the game.

No wonder Neville noticed that there are already “warning signs” for the club this season.
