Photo: Barcelona’s new Camp Nou that includes insane roof vantage point will blow Premier League grounds out of the water

Barcelona’s old Camp Nou stadium, despite its age, was one of the most iconic grounds in Europe.

As work continues on the new Camp Nou, the club has released some new renderings which show just how far Premier League clubs need to go to be able to say they’ve got a stadium which can rival what is clearly going to take some beating as the best in the world.

Capacity will be increased to over 100,000 supporters, spread out over four levels, with giant screens suspended from the roof in order for fans to watch replays and/or entertainment.

One of the most fascinating features is the aerial walkway, which will afford supporters the opportunity to get a view of the stadium that will be unlike any other.

  1. So, they’ve changed nothing & put giant iPhones on the roof. Not for me. Football doesn’t need additional entertainment. Pre-match, fans used to sing and were excited just to watch the warm up. We’ve now gone the way of the Americans, with full on marketing manipulation. The large jumbo screens encouraging the crowd to “make some noise” or “de-fence” shown to encourage the crowd to get behind their team (trust me I spent 8 years there). I preferred the days when we could actually think, feel & enjoy for ourselves. The great game was good for many years. It stood alone. This stadium is being sold on a viewing gallery & big screens – when really it’s all about the (diminishing) football.

It’s all about the Cash or should I suggest CBDC!?!

All the best with it though.
