Club now ready to pay Man United star’s £30m asking price, transfer could finally be struck in coming days

Fulham are reportedly now ready to pay Manchester United’s £30million asking price for Scott McTominay, with the possibility that a deal could now be thrashed out in the next few days.

That’s according to a report from Manchester World, who also suggest there’s some hope that Man Utd could finally reach an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over Manuel Ugarte.

Ugarte wants to join Man Utd but the sale of McTominay has been reported as being key, and Manchester World now suggest Fulham seem increasingly prepared to pay what’s required to land the Scotland international.

The Red Devils would do well to cash in on this homegrown player for around £30m, as he didn’t cost them any money to sign after he rose up through their academy.

Scott McTominay in action for Manchester United

Fulham would do well to bring in a player like McTominay after the blow of losing Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich earlier in the summer, and it makes sense that he’s available as United surely now need to be thinking about making changes in that area of the pitch.

Ugarte transfer an ideal McTominay upgrade for Man United

Ugarte coming in while McTominay heads out seems ideal for MUFC, even if some fans might be a bit disappointed to see a hard-working homegrown player moving on after a lengthy career at Old Trafford.

Even if McTominay has never been the best player in the world, he’s a reliable squad player who can make an impact off the bench, and one imagines he’s also the kind of midfielder who could have a really positive impact at a mid-table side like Fulham.

Ugarte is surely the superior player, though, even if it hasn’t quite happened for him during his time at PSG, with the Uruguay international starting well before Luis Enrique seemingly decided he wasn’t quite the right style of player for his system.
