West Ham could lose another player to Atalanta.

That’s according to recent reports, which claim midfielder Andy Irving is wanted by Serie A side Atalanta.

The Italian side signed Gianluca Scamacca last summer in a deal worth nearly £25 million, and Irving could be about to follow suit.

The Scottish midfielder was one of David Moyes’ last signings, and although he has yet to shine in the Premier League, has done well in spells, particularly in pre-season.

Consequently, the 24-year-old has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Gian Piero Gasperini with the 66-year-old even making a formal enquiry.

Thought to be keen on the prospect of playing for one of Europe’s biggest teams, Irving would welcome a reunion with Scamacca.
