Newcastle make late Bruno Guimaraes decision amid Arsenal and Man City links

Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has been linked with an exit from the club all summer.

He is one of the most important players for manager Eddie Howe as he is among the best midfielders in the league.

According to GiveMeSport, Newcastle United have decided not to entertain any late offers for Guimaraes in the transfer window.

The Brazilian international midfielder has been linked with a move to Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Magpies faced financial issues earlier this summer but their sales of Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson helped them comply with the Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Now they are in no desperate need to sell any player and Howe can be happy with the fact that he can keep his best players at the club.

Newcastle have decided not to cash in on Guimaraes at this stage of the transfer window as they do not want to leave it late to secure his replacement.

The player is keen on staying with the Toon Army, where he has been hugely successful since his move from Lyon.

Bruno Guimaraes is set to stay at Newcastle United.

Clubs could have easily signed the midfielder as he had a £100million release clause in his contract but since that clause has expired in June, Newcastle are now in a strong position to keep the player at the club.

They have instead shifted their focus on making new signings and their primary target is Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, as mentioned in the report.

Palace have so far rejected three bids for Guehi because they feel Newcastle have still not matched their asking price.

The transfer saga could continue in the final days of the transfer window with Howe determined to land his main target.

Newcastle United have managed to keep their best players

Guimaraes staying at the club is a huge boost for the Magpies. They have also managed to keep Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon at the club despite rumours of a move away.

Arsenal and Man City feel if they step up their efforts to sign the central midfielder, they can eventually get a deal done to sign him.

Newcastle have now made their decision and they are set to keep the Brazilian midfielder at the club and they would be hoping he can help them just like he did in the season before the last one when they qualified for the Champions League.
