Manchester United are keen on signing the Atalanta midfielder Ederson Dos Santos.

They will face competition from Aston Villa and it remains to be seen whether they can win the race for his signature.

According to a report from Spanish publication AS, Atalanta want €60 million for the 25-year-old midfielder and it will be interesting to see if Manchester United are ready to pay up. Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs on his situation as well. However, it is fair to assume that Manchester United will be in a better position to sign the player because of their financial resources.

Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid might not be able to compete with the Red Devils financially.

Ederson was a key player for the Italian club last season and he was instrumental in their Europa League win. The 25-year-old Brazilian international will want to compete at the highest level and the opportunity to join Manchester United could be quite exciting for him.

The Red Devils are one of the biggest clubs in the world and they could provide them with the platform to compete for trophies regularly.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid will be an exciting destination as well. They will be able to provide him with Champions League Football next season and he would get to play under a world class manager like Diego Simeone.

Ederson to Man United?

Aston Villa keen on Ederson as well

At Aston Villa, they are looking to put together a formidable squad. They have secured Champions League qualification for the next season and Unai Emery has brought in a number of talented players. They need more quality and depth in the middle of the park especially after the departure of Douglas Luiz. Ederson could be the ideal acquisition for them.

However, the €60 million asking price seems like a premium and it will be interesting to see if any club is willing to pay that kind of money for him. There is no doubt that Ederson has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in English football and he could be a key player for the Red Devils.
