Newcastle interfering in Chelsea deal; possible hijack on the cards

Posted by

Newcastle United are reportedly preparing to hijack Atletico Madrid’s deal to sign Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

The England midfielder has been this summer’s biggest transfer saga. Although wanted by multiple clubs, it appeared Diego Simeone’s side had won the race after agreeing to a £34 million deal.

However, with Gallagher’s switch hinging on Samu Omorodion moving the other way and the striker’s deal collapsing at the last hour, the 24-year-old has been left in limbo.

Newcastle United to hijack Conor Gallagher deal?

And according to a recent report from Fichajes, while Chelsea work tirelessly to salvage the transfer, which could now see Joao Felix return to Stamford Bridge, Eddie Howe’s interest is mounting.

There appears to be growing confidence the Geordies can hijack the deal and provide the midfielder with a much-needed solution to his future — something that the player must find incredibly frustrating as the new season is now just days away.

Conor Gallagher still doesn’t know where he will be playing next season.

Nevertheless, with the Magpies well placed to scupper Atletico Madrid’s plans, Howe and sporting director Paul Mitchell will be working overtime to ensure they can capture one of this summer’s most in-demand players.

During his two years in Chelsea’s first team, Gallagher, who has just 12 months left on his contract, has scored 10 goals and registered 10 assists in 95 games in all competitions.

  1. Gallagher isn’t going to Newcastle , even if he was a free agent right now , The Geordie’s are as deluded as Ratcliffe

    1. Not as deluded as you or this clickbait article.
We won’t be going after him because we are well covered by way better players in that position, we don’t need a water carrier. RCB and RW is where we’ll strengthen.

  2. Newcastle aren’t big enough club for Gallagher but if they manage to get him you can bet Newcastle will have plenty more supporters watching their games. His not a fake flashing type player even though his dribbling and passing are top class but unlike the overrated prima Donna’s he holds that area together with his work rate, tackling and energy. Most teams don’t have don’t have that vital aspect. I would love him to stay and continue his captaincy at Chelsea but we have a deluded bunch of people in charge now as everyone can clearly see.

    1. This is the most deluded post yet
We have a midfield 3 of Bruno, Big Joe and Tonali he is nowhere near as good as those 3 or Willock he’s more like Longstaff so not needed at all.
As for the big club jobs you have a short memory it wasn’t that long ago before the Rusian came to your club you trailed us in every aspect.
2 billionaires changed our club one proposed you the other stifled us. Remember where you were and don’t be so arrogant

  3. Absolute rubbish we don’t want him or need him. Could he get in a midfield with Joelinton, Bruno and Tonali…with back ups of Longstaff and Joe Willock?
