Chelsea’s Samu Omorodion deal collapsed due to lack of respect, forward will never play for the Blues

Chelsea’s move for Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion collapsed in the last 24 hours and reports out of Spain state that it was due to a lack of respect.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea had agreed a £34.5m deal with Atletico for Omorodion which tied in with the La Liga side’s move for Conor Gallagher.

The 20-year-old was expected to sign a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge with the option of a further year but the transfer collapsed due to issues with this contract.

Details are still emerging as to why this happened and reports out of Spain have put it down to a lack of respect.

El Chiringuito‘s Marcos Benito states that Chelsea tried to buy 50% of Omorodion’s image rights, which the player did not like and saw as a lack of respect. That led to the Atletico Madrid talent pulling out of the deal and it is being said that the 20-year-old has decided that he will never play for the Premier League club as a result of this incident.

The Blues have moved on to try and bring Joao Felix to the London club, but that still leaves Enzo Maresca in need of a number nine.

Chelsea’s Samu Omorodion situation has caused a big mess

The collapse of Chelsea’s deal for Omorodion has caused a mess for both the Premier League club and Atletico Madrid as it directly impacts the future of both Conor Gallagher and Julian Alvarez as the transfers are tied to the money that was being brought in from the sale of the striker.

Both clubs are now trying to reach an agreement over the sale of Felix to rectify everything but is the Portuguese star a player Chelsea really want following his previous spell at Stamford Bridge?

The Omorodion situation sums up Chelsea’s transfer business over the last two years and soon enough fans of the London club will start to have enough.

  1. Well, Chelsea supporters never loved the idea of Chelsea signing that Omorodion in the first place. So the collapse of the deal is most welcome. As per Joa Felix,he is always welcome to Chelsea. They love him,and he will make an instant impact; both on and off the pitch. The only snag may be Felix’s price. Let’s wait and see.

    1. I didn’t love Felix, and there is no way in the world he is what we need. He has never lived up to his billing. To say he is always welcome at Chelsea is crazy. He would be yet another bad signing to add to a long list of those in the past couple of years. The signings we really need are a new owner and a new coach! If only such things were possible. At least we know Enzo will get fired within 12 minutes regardless of results.

  2. I’m very happy with the news, he not good to be a Chelsea FC player, lacking technically, 70% of his shorts are off target, can ATM allow good sticker to leave so easily especially in that age?
