With almost a month left of the current transfer window, there’s still plenty of time for West Ham and their Premier League opponents to get some more deals across the line.
Though the Hammers have had more failures than successes in the market this summer, news from the past week should have all of the club’s fans excited.
A deal for Leeds United’s best player, Crysencio Summerville, is thought to be a formality, and it’s believed that Borussia Dortmund’s German centre-forward, Niclas Fullkrug, is open to a move to the London Stadium.
West Ham’s Todibo update
If Tim Steidten is able to land those two players on top of bringing in Max Kilman, Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham, the East Londoners will already have had a good window.
Were any more high profile stars to arrive, things could get even better for Julen Lopetegui.
One name that has done the rounds for a while now is Nice’s ex-Barcelona defender, Jean-Clair Todibo, and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has a specific update that Hammers fans will want to hear.
“Juventus remain in negotiations for Jean-Clair Todibo and he wants Juventus as a priority. Talks are ongoing, let’s see what happens with the Bianconeri,” he told CaughtOffside for his exclusive Daily Briefing.
“There have been rumours that West Ham could be back in the race, but they could only be an option if the deal with Juve collapses and that’s not the case now.
“Juve are still on it, price is around €40m.”
If technical director, Steidten, is doing his job well, then he’ll still have an iron in that particular fire whilst scouring the market for a more than able alternative.
It’s clear that West Ham are looking to strengthen in that area of the pitch and the club can’t leave things until the last knockings of the window and potentially leave themselves light.
