West Ham closing in on the signing of attacker from Champions League club

West Ham United's London Stadium is famous in the Premier League for its atmosphere.

West Ham United have already completed three signings in the summer transfer window.

The Hammers are looking to overhaul their squad this summer under new manager Julen Lopetegui.

Defender Max Kilman, winger Max Guilherme and goalkeeper Wes Foderingham have already arrived at the London Stadium with more fresh faces to follow soon.

Now they are looking to sign an attacker this summer as they want a new player to lead their attack after struggling with Michail Antonio upfront.

Journalist Manuele Baiocchini of Sky claims that West Ham United are very close to signing Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran.

“The player is talking to West Ham and also seemed to be very close to the Hammers, but we had an indiscretion about AC Milan, who might reconsider,” Baiocchini said, via Radio Rossonera.

The 20-year-old Aston Villa attacker scored only five Premier League goals last season in 23 appearances for the Midlands club, who qualified for the Champions League by finishing in fourth position in the league.

Jhon Duran to West Ham United?

He played back-up to first choice attacker Ollie Watkins and did not receive many chances to show his talent.

The opportunities he got were mostly substitute appearances but the striker has shown promise during his limited playing time.

Aston Villa are reportedly asking for £40m for the Colombian attacker, however, the Hammers are not willing to match this price.

Jhon Duran’s transfer to West Ham expected to accelerate now

The striker was away on international duty with Colombia at the Copa America this summer.

His team was involved in the final against Argentina and ended up losing the title to Lionel Messi’s team.

With the striker now free from his international commitments, his club future will be sorted soon.

Duran has attracted the interest of Premier League giants Chelsea and Italian powerhouses AC Milan.

If West Ham can still manage to sign him, it will be a major coup for them.

  1. I hope the club stop all the chat and get Duran signed up the last thing we need is to keep hesitating he is by far the best option for us we don’t need or want some has been that is constantly injured but given how things have turned out in the past we will probably end up signing a striker that nobody wants and is not up to the job mainly because he is cheap Sullivan needs to put his hand in his pocket if we are to get to the next level

  2. I honestly do not understand why we are not getting any striker and wasting our time following one person and in the end he will snub us… get Memphis depay he is a free agent and he is good , get Anthony martial from Man U he is lacking regular play time , Calvert Lewis from Everton …. We don’t need in the end take just anybody, what happened to Shaquill o Neil money did he buy a share ?

  3. West ham need to come to an agreement with villa regarding the structure of the fee! Depay is an option but he will be on big wages ? Calvert Lewis and martial are both erratic and injury prone!!! I would sign Duran as he’s still young, and has a good resale value that none off the others have, and he’s still improving as a player!
