Graham Potter contacted by Premier League club for a return to management

Graham Potter to Leicester City?

The Telegraph claims that following Enzo Maresca’s move to Chelsea, Leicester City are targeting a move for Graham Potter as their next manager.

Potter, who spent just one season with the Blues before being fired by Chelsea in April 2023, is being considered to take Maresca’s place.

After barely a year with the Midlands team, Maresca left for Stamford Bridge, and Leicester are now looking for a new manager to take charge of the team.

In his lone season at King Power Stadium, Maresca won the Championship title and led the Foxes to promotion to the Premier League.

Leicester City are now actively looking for a new manager and they could soon appoint Maresca’s replacement.

The 49-year-old Potter has been linked to a number of prominent positions, including Manchester United, where he may work with Dan Ashworth, the incoming sporting director, who was once his colleague at Brighton.

Graham Potter could return to the Premier League soon.

As per the report, Leicester have made an initial attempt to get in touch with Potter’s entourage to see whether the former Chelsea manager would accept the position at the Foxes.

Carlos Corberan, the manager of West Brom, is also mentioned as a potential contender.

If Potter accepts the job at Leicester, he will come up against his former clubs Brighton and Chelsea next season.

Graham Potter can be ideal for Leicester City

His attacking style of football will suit the Foxes who play on the front foot and have a number of talented players in their squad.

The new manager, whether it is Potter or someone else, will be boosted by Jamie Vardy’s decision to sign a new contract at the club after helping them gain promotion.

Leicester City, who won the Premier League title under Claudio Ranieri, will be hoping to stay in the top flight of English football and Potter has the experience to guide them towards their goal.
