Key Real Madrid star plans to stay in Spain despite Liverpool and Man City interest

Real Madrid’s Rodrygo plans to remain with the La Liga champions beyond this season despite interest in the Brazilian from Premier League duo Liverpool and Man City.

Over recent weeks, there has been a lot of speculation around the winger’s future at the Bernabeu given the imminent arrival of PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Rodrygo’s minutes are expected to be reduced as a result and it has been suggested that the 23-year-old may leave the La Liga champions, which would also help the Spanish giants raise significant funds for other deals.

In light of this, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claimed that Liverpool are the club leading the race for the Madrid star should he leave the Spanish capital as Mohamed Salah’s time at Anfield is coming to an end with his contract expiring in 2025.

A report from Marca has also linked Premier League champions Man City to Rodrygo, stating that the Manchester club are keeping an eye on his situation at Real Madrid should anything arise over the summer months.

However, the Brazilian plans to stay at the La Liga champions and his full focus at present will be Saturday’s Champions League final at Wembley.

Rodrygo plans to stay at Real Madrid

Ahead of Real Madrid competing in the Champions League final on Saturday against Borussia Dortmund, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Rodrygo’s future at the La Liga giants.

Despite recent rumours, the transfer expert has stated that the Brazilian plans to stay at Real Madrid next season as his team firmly believes that the Spanish outfit is the best technical project in the world.

The 23-year-old has been a key player for Carlo Ancelotti this season and will back himself heading into the new campaign to remain a vital part of the Italian’s plans, despite the arrival of a player that many consider to be the best in the world.
