Newcastle United misfit Ryan Fraser has reportedly been told he has no future at the club as an exit seems increasingly certain to happen imminently.
Fraser has just spent the season on loan at Southampton, and helped the club win promotion back to the Premier League by featuring in yesterday’s victory in the Championship playoff final against Leeds United.
The Scotland international may now get the chance to stay at Southampton permanently, as he surely won’t work his way back into this Newcastle side any time soon.
With just a year left on his contract at St James’ Park, it would surely be a good time for the Magpies to sell Fraser, while the Saints could be tempted to keep him.
Fraser seems clearly happier at Southampton than he ever did at Newcastle, with the player even publicly speaking out on this earlier in the season.
“I think everyone can see how much I’m enjoying it,” he said of his time at the St Mary’s Stadium.
“It’s not a front that I’m putting on. I don’t think I’ve loved football this much for a long, long, long time.”
