Tottenham have reached an agreement on their first deal of the summer transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou’s men are looking to make moves in the transfer market as they prepare for a return to European football.

Spurs are expected to make significant changes to their squad with additions expected in attack, midfield and defense.

Meanwhile, some of the players considered surplus to requirements will be offloaded to generate funds for transfer business.

Tottenham and Championship team Millwall have reached an agreement for the transfer of Spurs academy product Japhet Tanganga, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The final stage before the move can proceed in June, when the window opens on June 14, is to agree on personal terms.

Tanganga joined Millwall in January and has been a regular starter for them this season.

The Spurs player made 18 appearances and scored two goals while on loan at The Den during the second part of the season.

He had a difficult start to the 2023–24 season while on loan at FC Augsburg in Germany, when he was unable to participate in any games for the first team.

However, his move to Milwall has resurrected his career when it looked like going downwards at one stage.

Japhet Tanganga is heading for an exit from Tottenham.

Milwall head coach Neil Harris has expressed his desire to keep Tanganga at the club.

Harris told The South London Press: “Japhet has started every game for me, so he is obviously going fantastically well.

Japh has done extremely well. I’m a firm believer when players do well on loan that there is hope you work with them again in the future.”

Tottenham exit can help Tanganga’s career

A move away from Tottenham is just what Tanganga needed in his career.

To make a place in Tottenham’s starting line up is proving to be difficult this season and new signing Radu Dragusin can confirm that.

Tanganga’s contract expires this summer, but Spurs still have the option to extend it by one more year, therefore Milwall have acted swiftly.
