It’s clear that Arsenal intend to buy another striker for next season even if they wish to retain the services of Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazilian’s injury record has meant that the Gunners have been left with no other option but to consider other attacking possibilities.

One player that they’re keen to target in the summer transfer window is Stuttgart’s excellent 28-year-old Guinean striker, Serhou Guirassy, according to CaughtOffside sources with knowledge of their transfer plans.

The striker has been on fire this season, scoring an incredible 25 goals in 25 Bundesliga appearances per WhoScored.

That sort of output and a release clause of just €17.5m hasn’t only alerted the North London outfit, however.

If they want to try and land the player, they will face significant competition for his services domestically and from across the continent.

Premier League giants Manchester United and Newcastle United are known to be admirers, whilst Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan have all apparently registered their interest in the hot-shot.

Guirassy’s priority is believed to be a transfer to a Premier League club that will play in the Champions League, which would place Arsenal as the favourites in this particular race.

Having said that, the player is open to staying at the Bundesliga club with a salary increase due to the fact that Stuttgart will play in the premier European tournament next season – due in no small part to his goals throughout 2023/24.

There’s still plenty of work to be done if Mikel Arteta is to get the player to sign on the dotted line, and the club will need to get things moving quickly if they want to land Guirassy.

That’s because he not only represents a virtual guarantee of goals but remains incredible value for money at this point.

  1. It makes a lot of sense to sign him instead of Zirkzee wh has only a few miserable goals. Guirassy ahs been consistent throughout the season and demonstrated his ability in big games.

If we can’t get Gyokeres because of his price tag, this is surely the way to go rather than buy Zirkzee. Sesko is surely the other alternative. I’m not too sold out on Gimenez
