Liverpool

I’m aware there has been talk of Liverpool, Newcastle and others eyeing up Conor Gallagher. His departure this summer is a possibility, but nothing clear yet on clubs approaching him. There’s nothing advanced at this stage. Chelsea will consider bids as they need to sell some players but nothing is 100% decided yet.

Regarding reports of an important Liverpool recruitment meeting taking place last week – honestly it’s normal for top clubs to meet and discuss targets, it does not sound to me like big news. It’s routine for football clubs. What I can tell you for now is that Jurgen Klopp will have big role in the decisions and midfielders remain the priority for the Reds.

Alexis Mac Allister and his camp consider a summer move away from Brighton as 100% guaranteed. The expectation is for an early transfer. Both Liverpool and Manchester United look set to open talks on the player’s side soon.

Jurgen Klopp on how many new signings will be completed: “I cannot give you a number, I don’t want to give you a number. It’s about doing the right things. We always try to be smart in the transfer market.”

Manchester City

Barcelona want Ilkay Gundogan this summer for sure and it’s something they already discussed in summer 2022, but the player has not made any decision yet. Gundogan wants to focus on the final crucial games with Manchester City dreaming of the Champions League; then he will communicate his decision to City. Barca want him as priority target.

Bernardo Silva has also been linked with Barcelona several times, but I don’t currently have an update on his situation.

Newcastle United

Despite rumours, I’m not aware of bids or concrete talks with Newcastle and Perr Schuurs at this stage. Many clubs are following the talented Torino centre-back; Newcastle sent their scouts in February and March, Inter did the same.

PSG

Lionel Messi’s future is sure to be one of the biggest stories of the year, so I’m aware there are plenty of fans eager to know any updates. It’s still April and so still early, these kind of big deals always take time. I’m not sure there will be big movements in the next days, it could take weeks or months.

Real Madrid

Eduardo Camavinga may have been the subject of some speculation in recent times, but his agent Jonathan Barnett has been very strong on his future, saying: “He wants to be at Real Madrid his entire life. There will be no problems with Real Madrid, we will sit down and I’m sure we will reach an agreement.”

Carlo Ancelotti on Real Madrid interest in Jude Bellingham: “I can just say that unfortunately Bellingham is Borussia Dortmund player, I don’t like to speak about players from other clubs. I’m sorry but no comment.”

Toni Kroos has agreed new contract at Real Madrid valid until June 2024, as reported on Sunday. Carlo Ancelotti: “Kroos, he’s a legend of the club. He’s a top level. New deal? I expect Toni to complete his career here at Real Madrid for sure.”

Carlo Ancelotti on Brazil job: “I don’t like speaking about this. I would like to stay at Real Madrid, I already clarified this.”

Tottenham

I can confirm that Tottenham appreciate Vincent Kompany, I’ve said in the last few weeks that Vincent is one of the managers they like after his impressive work at Burnley, but the feeling inside the club is that nothing has been decided yet on the new head coach. It will take time to decide the new manager with Daniel Levy on it.

Valencia

Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is expected to leave Valencia in any case at the end of the season despite only recently signing a contract extension. I’m told that both Chelsea and Tottenham are just monitoring his development, while Leicester City met with his agent ten days ago.
