Scott McTominay
A player who’s becoming a real leader for this United side, Scott McTominay needs to follow in the footsteps of some other notable academy stars and step it up against Arsenal tonight.
At his best, the Scotland international is the kind of hard working battler United need, but tonight he’ll need to have his wits about him too as he’ll likely be tasked with keeping Arsenal playmaker Dani Ceballos quiet.
That’s no easy task, but these are the games on which McTominay will be judged if he is to make it at the club or be replaced in the next transfer window.
Jesse Lingard
Likely to start due to the long list of United injuries, Jesse Lingard could really do with having his traditional storming game against Arsenal.
The good will showed towards the England international is fast running out after a major dip in form in 2019, but there’s a useful player in there somewhere and he has come to life in the big matches in the past.
Tonight, Lingard will need to provide a goal threat and supply chances to support youngster Mason Greenwood, with a lot of pressure on those two in the absence of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
