Barcelona are said to be eyeing up a move for PSV star Mohammed Ihattaren, a player who’s been labelled as the next best thing since Dutch legend Arjen Robben.

Don Balon are noting that Barca are keen on signing the 17-year-old, however it looks like they’ll have to battle a number of clubs like Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea to secure the player’s signature.

The report also notes that the player will cost at least €10M, with it also being stated that there hasn’t been a star as talented as Ihattaren at PSV since Robben, a fantastic compliment.

The Blaugrana have a great history of Dutch players, with stars like Johan Cruyff, Patrick Kluivert, Ronald Koeman and Edgar Davids all donning the club’s famous shirt in the past.

Barcelona may be jumping the gun a bit if they do end up signing Ihattaren, as the player has only played three games for PSV’s first team during his time with the Dutch giants.

Ihattaren has been known to be able to play in a variety of positions during his career thus far, with the youngster being deployed in roles such as attacking midfielder, centre forward and right wing.

Itharren is said to be the next best thing at PSV since legend Arjen Robben

It’ll be interesting to see if Barca end up going through with a move for Itharren, a move that could prove to be very risky given the player’s inexperience and young age.
