Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has revealed Eden Hazard has previously told him he would never force a transfer away from the Blues.

AS and a variety of other sources continue to link Hazard strongly with Real Madrid ahead of the summer transfer window, but Fabregas has strongly suggested he thinks the Belgium international could stay at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard will be out of contract at the end of next season unless he pens a new deal, but there has been little indication in recent times that he’s going to do so.

Still, Chelsea fans can perhaps take some encouragement from Fabregas’ words, with the Spaniard seeming confident his old club can keep hold of Hazard.

‘I think he’s going to extend his contract with Chelsea. He’s a loyal player. He told me he would never fight with Chelsea to leave. This is his club, he has won so much in England,’ Fabregas told Cadena Ser.

“This is just what I think, but I know him well. If he has made a decision, it would never be to let the club down in the middle of the season, he would not do that.”

Fabregas only just left Chelsea himself, making the move to Monaco in the January transfer window.

Truthfully, Chelsea could really do without more important, experienced members of their first-team leaving any time soon as the club struggles on the pitch.
