Speculation continues to suggest that Gonzalo Higuain is edging ever closer towards completing a move to Chelsea, but Maurizio Sarri was remaining tight-lipped on Friday.
As noted by Calciomercato, it has been claimed that the 31-year-old has even bid farewell to his AC Milan teammates amid ongoing talk that he is set to leave for Chelsea.

Such a move would end his loan stint with the Rossoneri, with Sky Sports noting how he is currently on loan with the Italian giants from Juventus, with Milan holding an option to spend a further €36m this summer to make his move permanent.
However, it doesn’t appear as though that will happen as a reunion with Sarri has been heavily touted, but the Italian tactician wasn’t prepared to offer any updates on the matter, aside from noting that he has informed director Marina Granovskaia of what he believes is necessary to bolster his squad.
“I don’t know. I want to be clear, because I cannot help you,” he told the media, as quoted by Sky Sports. “I spoke with [Chelsea director] Marina [Granovskaia] two weeks ago and she knows my opinion on how to improve the team. Then I decided to be focused on the pitch, on matches, on training.
“Now I am confident because I know Marina is working very hard but I don’t know anything about the market because I want to focus on the matches.
“I don’t call her every evening, otherwise I spend all my mental energy on the market. I think it’s better if I spend it on the pitch.”
Higuain’s arrival would be a potentially major boost for the Blues, given his history with Sarri at Napoli. The Argentine ace had the most prolific campaign of his career under the Italian, bagging 38 goals in just 42 games in the 2015/16 season.
Things have become a little more complicated since then as he has managed just eight goals in 22 outings for Milan so far this year, but it would appear as though he may not be at the San Siro for much longer.
Time will tell if the two clubs reach an agreement, along with parent club Juventus, but Sarri wasn’t giving anything away despite surely hoping to reunite with his former talisman to help his goal-shy Chelsea side become more prolific through the second half of the campaign.
