Aston Villa have enjoyed a positive start to the new campaign, and they could reportedly be set for a double transfer boost before next week.
Steve Bruce’s men have collected eight points from their opening four Championship games as they remain unbeaten, and they’ll be desperate to keep that run going for as long as possible to end their wait for a return to the Premier League this time round.
As per BBC Sport, Villa secured a deal for Anwar El Ghazi on Wednesday, but The Sun suggest that they could be in line for a very busy end to the transfer window with Tammy Abraham and Yannick Bolasie of Chelsea and Everton respectively being linked with moves to Villa Park.
Bolasie has been dogged by injury woes since joining Everton in 2016, as he’s been limited to just 32 appearances in the last two seasons.
Coupled with the arrival of Marco Silva this summer, it appears as though his time at Goodison Park is coming to an end, with a move to Aston Villa now being touted.
Bruce has the likes of Albert Adomah and Andre Green at his disposal to offer real quality in the wide positions, but particularly after seeing Robert Snodgrass return to West Ham United after his loan spell came to an end, more is perhaps needed in that department.
El Ghazi will help address it, but adding Bolasie will certainly give him options and depth to make a real push this season.
Further, Abraham would potentially add firepower up front as he’ll be looking to rediscover the form that saw him score 26 goals in 48 games for Bristol City in the 2016/17 campaign.
With that in mind, these could be two crucial deals for Villa to help add the missing pieces needed for them to sustain a promotion push having suffered the heartbreak of losing in the playoff final at Wembley last season.
