Liverpool and Chelsea handed transfer boost as Nabil Fekir fails to rule out a move away from Lyon before the end of the current transfer window.
According to The Guardian, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has already failed once this summer to lure Fekir to Anfield with a £53 million bid, but the midfielder’s latest comments suggest that there may still be a glimmer of hope for the German.
Liverpool’s summer spending has been well documented as supporters have already seen Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri, Fabinho and Alisson arrive at the club during the current transfer window. However, Klopp could yet try his luck in pursuit of Fekir once more before the window closes on the 9th August.

They may face stiff competition from Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea over the coming days though, as The Daily Express reports. The Blues still look worryingly short on creativity in the middle of the park and Fekir could slot nicely into Sarri’s preferred 4-3-3 system should he favour a move to London over Merseyside.
The Guardian also reports that the 25-year-old spoke to Lyon’s official website yesterday and remained extremely coy on his immediate future.
“As you can see, I am in Lyon. I am very good here,” said the Frenchman.
“But the transfer window is still long and everything goes very fast in football.”
Chelsea and Liverpool supporters will likely get their hopes up in the wake of the midfielder’s comments, but perhaps the former’s need is greater given their subdued transfer activity so far this summer.
After their business over the last couple of months, the Reds have a squad which looks capable of challenging for the league title already, whereas Sarri must surely be hoping to bring in one or two more fresh faces before the season kicks off after an inept defeat to Manchester City in the Community Shield.
