Lionel Messi isn’t in favour of seeing Marek Hamsik secure a move to Barcelona this summer, despite the fact the midfielder has offered himself to Ernesto Valverde’s side.
This is according to Don Balon, who note that the Slovakian is desperate to join the Spanish giants, and that one of the reasons why Messi doesn’t want him to join is due to the player’s age.

The report also states that the Argentine superstar would prefer to see the club sign Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic, a player who would definitely add some quality to Barca’s midfield should he sign.
We can’t see why Messi wouldn’t want Hamsik to move to the Nou Camp, as the Slovakian has proven to be truly class player during his years at Napoli.
Since joining the club all the way back in 2007, the Slovakian has managed to clock up a total of 501 appearances in that time, a fantastic accomplishment.
During this time period Hamsik has managed to amass a total of 120 goals and 110 assists, a record that any player would be proud to call their own.
Despite this, Hamsik has failed to win a league title during his time in Naples, something we’re sure the player himself is bitterly disappointed with.
