Barcelona have reportedly approached Valencia over the signing of Spanish playmaker Dani Parejo, but doubts remain over a deal due to his touted price-tag.
Parejo has been at the Mestalla since 2011 and has made 211 appearances for the club, scoring 37 goals. Valencia finished 4th in La Liga last season and the Spaniard captained the side as they secured a place in the Champions League.
He missed out on the final Spain squad for the World Cup this summer in Russia though, but could now be set for the biggest move of his career – according to Sport English.

However, it’s added that the Catalan giants aren’t willing to splash out a possible €50m to prise him away from their La Liga rivals, and in turn Andre Gomes could be used as a bargaining tool to lower the demands.
Nevertheless, that would complicate matters further and so it remains to be seen whether or not the two clubs can strike an agreement that suits all parties with the Portuguese international struggling to make a consistently positive impact at the Nou Camp since leaving Valencia in 2016.
Barca manager Ernesto Valverde is reportedly a big fan of Parejo, as per Sport, and the club has now sounded out Valencia over the possibility of signing the 29-year-old.
The report also states that Parejo’s current deal with Valencia runs out in 2020 and the club does not want to lose one of their most prized assets. In turn, they’re still in a reasonably strong position to hold on to their key man for now and fend Barcelona off but a deal involving a return for Gomes could sway them.
