Chelsea are reportedly set to up their offer for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani by bidding €50million to edge closer to completing a transfer.
According to Goal, this would see the Blues finally match Juve’s asking price for Rugani after failed efforts to sign him earlier this summer.
The Italy international looks a top young talent who could be an ideal long-term replacement for the likes of David Luiz and Gary Cahill at the back for Chelsea.

Neither player hit top form last season and may be past their peak now at this level, while Rugani has shone under new CFC boss Maurizio Sarri in the past.
The 23-year-old played under Sarri when he was with Empoli, and it could now be that the pair are reunited at Stamford Bridge in this exciting transfer swoop.
Goal’s report adds that Chelsea are also confident of signing CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin, with the club seeming to finally get their act together after a quiet start to the summer.
The west London giants have only made one signing so far in Jorginho, but if they can land Rugani and Golovin they should be in a stronger position than last season.
That depends, however, on keeping players as well, with Goal noting that Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois’ futures are in some doubt, while the Daily Mail and others continue to link Willian as a top target for Barcelona.
