£27M-rated star’s former teammate wishes him luck at Chelsea amid rumours of Monaco transfer swoop

Aleksandr Golovin’s former CSKA Moscow teammate Sergei Chepchugov has wished the Russian good luck on his move to Chelsea amid rumours of a bid form Monaco for the World Cup star.

The CSKA star was one of Russia’s main men this summer as the hosts reached the quarter finals of the competition before eventually crashing out to runners-up Croatia.

And now, it seems like the player is off to Stamford Bridge, if the words of his former teammate are anything to go by.

The player, who played with Golovin at CSKA between the years of 2014 and 2017, posted on Instagram, with part of the caption to the post saying “I wish you to feel love [at] #Chelsea Have fun, great career !!!”, so it seems like he’s let it slip about the player’s future…

The Sun have reported in the past that the midfielder is a £27M target for the west London side, something that seems more real following this post from his former teammate.

Le10Sport have noted recently that Monaco have made a €35M bid for the player.

However it seems like they won’t be successful in their pursuit of the player if Chepchugov’s post is anything to go by.

Golovin would be a fine purchase by Chelsea if they managed to get him for the aforementioned price of £27M, with the player showcasing during the World Cup just what he’s all about.

Despite being just 22 years old, the Russian was one of his side’s most creative and dangerous outlets during this summer’s tournament, something that should be positive signs for you Blues fans.
