Manchester United are reportedly confident Bayern Munich will sell Arturo Vidal in the summer transfer window as they prepare to bring in Leon Goretzka in midfield.
The Manchester Evening News claim the Red Devils are keen to bring in Vidal as Jose Mourinho wants to reunite him with his former Juventus team-mate Paul Pogba in midfield.
The pair proved a superb combination during their time together at Juve and Mourinho feels it could be worth having them link up together again at Old Trafford.
The Daily Star also recently linked the Chile international with United and Chelsea, claiming Bayern would likely ask for around £53million for his signature.
This also follows reports from the Daily Mirror in January that United were looking into signing Nice star Jean Seri as another option in midfield, which is clearly seen as a priority area for Mourinho.
The MEN now claim Vidal is being looked at as a successor to Michael Carrick, who will retire at the end of the season, while other players are also being considered as options.
Among those listed by the MEN are Napoli’s Jorginho and Julian Weigl of Borussia Dortmund, while Christian Pulisic is also a target in attack.
