Liverpool have completed the signing of young left-back Tony Gallacher from Falkirk, with the transfer now official on the Reds’ website.
The 18-year-old has been pictured posing alongside Liverpool and Scotland legend Kenny Dalglish and will now link up with the Reds’ development squad.
Despite his relative youth, Gallacher joins Liverpool having already been a first-teamer at Falkirk and looks a big talent for the future at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp has shown a willingness to give chances to youth during his time as Liverpool manager, with academy talents like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben Woodburn making first-team breakthroughs under the German’s watch.
Gallacher will feel this could be a great move for him to progress in the Premier League, and Liverpool will hope they’ve landed themselves a potential star of the future.
Given Klopp’s desire to bring him in this season and his record with handing opportunities to young players, it may not even be too long before Reds fans see Gallacher making waves in the senior side.
Liverpool also spent big on signing Virgil van Dijk from Southampton earlier this January, while Philippe Coutinho has left the club for Barcelona.
All in all, however, Klopp’s men look in decent shape going into the second half of the season.
