‘Man Utd are MILES BIGGER than Man City’ – Ex-MUFC star says giants have sent message to rivals

It promises to be another exciting transfer deadline day

Alexis Sanchez is on the verge of securing a move to join Man Utd, and it comes after heavy speculation in recent months linking him with rivals Man City and a possible reunion with Pep Guardiola.

Former Man Utd star Paul Ince has had his say on the matter, as he has insisted that the Red Devils remain the much bigger draw in Manchester, and that’s why they sealed his signing.

The 29-year-old was at Carrington on Sunday to undergo his medical ahead of completing his move from Arsenal, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving in the opposite direction.

Sanchez is expected to be unveiled by the Red Devils on Monday as Man Utd have swooped in and got a deal done with speculation suggesting that he will earn big money at Old Trafford. But Ince is still convinced that the appeal and power of United made the difference and players still want to join the club over City regardless of Pep Guardiola’s current success.

“Everyone is raving about City. But when it comes to the two clubs, Man United are miles bigger than City,” he is quoted as saying by The Mirror. “Players would still prefer to go to them over Pep’s side – that’s a fact. Players won’t go to City because they think they’re a bigger, more historic club than United. Because they’re simply not.

“Sanchez had the opportunity to go into a team where he could have won a trophy. But he didn’t, he chose to go to United because of everything they stand for and that says a lot about the size of the club.”

Ince went on to insist that Sanchez is a statement signing from Man Utd and they have sent a message to their rivals to remind them that they’re still the biggest club in the Premier League, while he envisages Jose Mourinho getting closer to winning the Champions League this season if he has Sanchez at his disposal in the coming months.
