Arsenal given hope over Thomas Lemar
The Daily Mirror claim Arsenal may be in a decent position to sign Monaco attacker Thomas Lemar, though he had recently been linked as a target for United.
Yahoo Sport claimed Mourinho was looking at the 22-year-old Frenchman as one of a number of targets in attack, though that story doesn’t seem to have materialised into anything more concrete.
United’s chances of signing him now do seem a little slim with the Mirror suggesting it’s a two-way battle between Arsenal and Liverpool for his signature.
Arsenal rival Manchester United for Malcom
The Daily Mail recently linked exciting Bordeaux starlet Malcom as a target for United, but it is now claimed that Arsenal have made an approach for him too.
The Brazilian has shone in Ligue 1 this term and journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed the Gunners have now been in touch about snapping him up.
Arsenal have asked info to Bordeaux for the Brazilian winger #Malcom, 1997. He can be a good opportunity for January or for next season. There are many clubs on him: not easy. ?? #transfers #AFC #Arsenal

He adds, however, that there are ‘many’ clubs in for him.
Arsenal also in for United target Mauro Icardi
Rounding off our Manchester United transfer news update is speculation that Arsenal are also rivalling the Reds for the signing of Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.
Gianluca Di Marzio list Arsenal as among the Argentine’s suitors, though it had previously been suggested he would more likely end up at a bigger name.
Don Balon linked Icardi with United not so long ago, while Diario Gol suggested he was on the verge of joining Real Madrid after completing a medical with the Spanish giants.
