Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho could reportedly be set to hand Luke Shaw a major lifeline with a second chance to prove himself at Old Trafford.
The England international has struggled since his move from Southampton back in 2014, despite arriving at the club as one of the country’s most exciting young players.
Initially unable to win over Mourinho, Shaw has worked his way back into the team recently with a string of impressive displays, and this has not gone unnoticed by his manager.
According to the Daily Record, United may now cool their interest in signing an established left-back like Alex Sandro, partly due to his £62million asking price at Juventus.

But as well as that, Mourinho now seemingly has faith that Shaw can be his first choice, and will instead look at signing youngsters as cover and eventual long-term replacements.
Celtic’s Kieran Tierney and Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon are believed to be on the Red Devils’ radar, but Shaw has done remarkably well to put himself back in the frame.
