Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has reportedly contacted Real Madrid over sealing a controversial transfer to the Bernabeu.
The former Barcelona star was sold by the Catalan giants earlier in his career and Don Balon claim they have closed the door to re-signing him.
This could now mean Alcantara ends up dealing them the ultimate snub himself by moving back to La Liga with their arch rivals Real, in a move that could also benefit Manchester United.
Don Balon claim Zinedine Zidane is keen on landing the Spain international, as he could be an ideal replacement for the under-performing Toni Kroos, who is mentioned as already being likely to make the move to United.

United could certainly do with a ball-playing midfielder of his kind as doubts remain over the futures of Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick, who are nearing the ends of their contracts.
