Chelsea have seen their odds slashed on sealing two big January transfers this winter in the form of Monaco winger Thomas Lemar and Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.
The Premier League champions look in need of some major surgery this season after a poor start looks to have already ended any hopes of retaining their title.
Antonio Conte didn’t have the best of summers in the transfer market, losing Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic with replacement signings Alvaro Morata and Tiemoue Bakayoko hardly looking like upgrades.
According to the London Evening Standard, Lemar and Barkley are among Conte’s top targets to strengthen in January, and Ladbrokes are now offering decent odds that they’ll win the race for both players.

The Daily Mail have previously claimed Arsenal would come back in for Lemar, though the Independent currently suggest Liverpool consider themselves favourites as they prepare a move for the France international.
The Telegraph, meanwhile, claimed earlier this season that Tottenham would likely be in for Barkley this January, though he’s 6/5 to move to Stamford Bridge.
Ladbrokes have Arsenal as 7/4 favourite for Lemar, but Chelsea are now ahead of Liverpool with odds of just 2/1 that they’ll snap up the 22-year-old.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: ‘This could be a busy transfer window for Chelsea, with a couple of marquee names now shorter than ever to make the move to the Bridge.’
