Arsenal star set to break record held by Manchester United’s Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba is set to return from injury for Manchester United

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is reportedly set to earn a whopping £400,000 a week upon sealing a transfer to Manchester City, becoming the highest paid player in the Premier League.

According to the Daily Mirror, Sanchez looks to be set on joining City despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain, and he could earn a basic wage of £325,000 per week with around £75,000 a week in bonuses.

The Metro claim this would make the Chile international the Premier League’s highest earner of all time, moving head of the current record held by £290,000-a-week-man Paul Pogba at Manchester United.

Despite the big expense in terms of wages, it looks as though City will sign Sanchez on a free transfer, saving them a significant amount in that department.

According to BBC Sport, City almost spent £55million on signing Sanchez during the summer, but the 29-year-old could now become one of the best Bosman signings of all time.

Sanchez has not been at his best for Arsenal this season, but his form last term saw him become regarded as one of Europe’s top forwards.

City already have an immensely talented forward line, but the addition of Sanchez could make Pep Guardiola’s men unstoppable.
