Arsenal have been handed a massive boost in their pursuit of Seville’s Steven N’Zonzi with the star stating his current career at the Spanish club is over.
The Sun have cited a report from France Football that has stated that N’Zonzi, who has a £35m release clause, was involved in a huge bust-up with Seville boss Eduardo Berizzo during the Spanish club’s recent Champions League clash with English club Liverpool.
The report details how the Frenchman was on the receiving end of some harsh criticism from his coach. Commenting on the bust-up, N’Zonzi told France Football, “My future is clearly away from Seville. The only thing that disappoints me is the way it has ended.”
The Sun also detailed how the star has been a longterm target for Arsenal.
It looks as though Arsene Wenger is looking to strengthen the heart of his midfield following the continued injury setbacks concerning Santi Cazorla.
It would appear that Wenger does not foresee Aaron Ramsey as a longterm solution to his defensive midfield woes and would rather find a conventional deep-lying midfielder to fill the hole in the North London squad rather than having to compromise Ramsey’s attacking freedom.
The Gunners will of-course face competition for the star who now looks free to leave Seville providing a sufficient fee is offered. The perviously mentioned report states that Sam Allardyce will also look to be acquiring the services of the want-away Frenchman also with Everton reported to be interested in the star.
